The other songs on this single/EP have a cheesy quality to them that I can’t get into.
But I love ‘As Acid Turns’ – it’s the definition of an acid track. A few great acid lines with a drum machine. Add in the vocals of Lidell just chanting “Slam slam dance”. The vocals sound like they were recorded in someones house as an afterthought – you can hear other people talking in the background. It’s that DIY quality that inspires people to this day. A drum machine, a 303, and a microphone and you have a quality track – one that sounds a lot better than the studio polished “Jack’n Tall”.
